A man in Bihar’s Chhapra was injected with an empty syringe by a nurse working in haste during a busy vaccination drive. A video that has gone viral shows the nurse, Chanda Kumari talking to others and swiftly pushing in the needle without any vaccine dose in it.
The man’s friend was standing nearby to shoot a video of him getting vaccinated. This is how the errant nurse was caught on camera.
The video has started doing the rounds on social media, inviting action against the nurse.
District Immunization Officer said that a show-cause notice has been issued to nurse who and has been asked to give an explanation within 48 hours. She has also been removed from duty.
The man who fell victim can now get the vaccine dose on any day he chooses.
