The Biyani-Bezos fight is far from over. Just 48 hours after Future Retail went back to the apex court, Amazon has written to market regulator SEBI to comply with the Supreme Court judgement and revoke approvals for the Reliance, Future deals.
Amazon in a letter dated August 17 requested SEBI, “In the light of the directions contained in the enforcement judgment and the emergency arbitrator order, whose validity has been affirmed by the Supreme Court, Amazon requests you to take all such action as is necessary to comply with the Supreme Court judgment and to further ensure that no communications subsist or emanate which are at variance with the Supreme Court judgment.”
US e-commerce giant wants the market regulator to direct stock exchanges to withdraw the 'Observation Letters' that were issued related to the proposed Rs 24,713-crore Future-Reliance deal. SEBI had given conditional nod to the deal before the Supreme Court ruling favoring Amazon.
