Bhubaneswar vaccinates 100% of its people, first city in India to do so

Bhubaneswar in Odisha has become the first city in India to vaccinate 100% of its population against Covid-19. Additionally, about one lakh migrant workers have also been administered the first dose of Covid vaccine in the city.

Till July 31, the Odisha govt has administered the second jab to a total of 9,07,000 people above 18 years of age, which includes around 31,000 health workers, 33,000 frontline workers, about 5.17 lakh people between 18-45 and 3.2 lakh people above 45.

To accelerate the inoculation drive, 55 vaccination centres were set up across Bhubaneswar, 30 out of which were built inside primary health centres and community centres.
