The Union Health Ministry on Thursday said that India has been reporting 8,000 Covid-19 cases on an average daily for the last week and the overall positivity of the country is at 0.92%.
It also said that since December 26 India has been reporting over 10,000 cases daily.
Addressing a press conference, Joint Health Secretary Luv Aggarwal said that the weekly positivity rate of more than 10% is being noted in 8 districts including 6 districts from Mizoram, one from Arunachal Pradesh, Kolkata in West Bengal. He added that the weekly case positivity rate is between 5-10% in 14 districts.

Talking about vaccination, Aggarwal said that approximately 90% of the adult population in India has been vaccinated against Covid-19 with the first dose.
