Kamal Singh, a 20-year-old son of an e-rickshaw driver from Delhi's Vikaspuri has bagged a spot in the prestigious English National Ballet School in London.

This makes Kamal the first Indian to be accepted to the school. His affair with ballet began after watching ABCD: Anybody Can Dance when he was 17 and got himself enrolled at the Imperial Fernando Ballet Company's centre, the Indian Express reported.

Unable to pay its fees, the founder of the ballet school Mario Fernando Aguilera granted Singh a scholarship provided he trained every day.

Fastforward to 2020, Singh is set to start the programme in London next month and has kick-started a fundraiser to enable him to study in the UK.
