India women (IND-W) vs Australia women (AUS-W), 1st ODI: India's trip Down Under began on a disastrous note as Australia crush India by 9 wickets in the 1st ODI to go 1-0 up in the 3-match series. With that, Australia extended its winning streak in women's ODIs to 25 games.

Meg Lanning's decision to put India into bat proved right as the visitors lost both openers with just 38 runs on the board. Mithali Raj once again steadied the ship with 107-ball-63.

En route to her 5th consecutive half century, Mithali also completed 20,000 international runs. But not much support from other batters meant that India could manage 225/8. Australia broke little sweat in chasing it down as a half century each by their top 3 powered the hosts to a thumping win. India last beat Australia in an ODI way back in July 2017.
