On a 2-day visit to Goa, Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal sounded the poll bugle in the state with electoral promises in the power sector, similar to those that helped him win the 2014 Delhi Assembly elections.

The Delhi Chief Minister made 4 guarantees- first, 300 units of free electricity per month for every Goan household which will result in 87% of the state receiving zero electricity bills. Second, a ‘clean slate’ or a promise to waive off all old or pending electricity bills. Third, an uninterrupted 24/7 power supply. And fourth, free electricity to the farmers.

Kejriwal has made similar promises for subsidised electricity to voters in Uttarakhand and Punjab, two more states which will go to polls next year.
