Indi vs NZ Highlights, 1st T20I: Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid's era began on a nervy note as India avoided a scare to beat New Zealand by 5 wickets in the 1st T20 in Jaipur to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series.
Put into bat, The Kiwis looked good for a big total as Martin Guptill looked threatening. But he was dismissed for 70 and India didn't loosen its grip on the game thereon. Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked 2 wickets each to restrict New Zealand to 164/6.
Chasing which, openers put together a 50-run stand. KL Rahul was dismissed soon after but Rohit Sharma set up the stage nicely with a gritty 48. Suryakumar Yadav's 40-ball-62 was the highlight of India's batting but he couldn't finish off the run-chase.
India needed just 23 runs off the final 4 overs but the equation came down to 10 needed off the last over. India though crossed the finish line with 2 balls to spare.
