19-year-old Shehroze Kashif from Pakistan has become the youngest person in the world to reach the summit of K2 – the 8,611-meter (2,625 feet) peak that is the world's second-highest mountain.
"At the top of peak, there was a sense of achievement. I dreamed to summit K2. I would say dream big and achieve them. So in this way I dreamed to summit K2 and Allah blessed me with success", he said.
Earlier this year in May, Kashif became the youngest Pakistani to scale the Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain.
But unlike Mount Everest, which has been scaled by thousands of climbers young and old, fewer mountaineers attempt K2.

Located in the Karakorum Mountain range, K2 is one of the most dangerous climbs. K2 has harsh conditions – winds can blow at more than 200 kilometres per hour (124 miles per hour) and temperatures can drop to minus 60C (minus 76 Fahrenheit).
"The K2 is a savage mountain. I faced many hardships. I was without a porter, I carried all my equipment and luggage. The Nepali sherpas helped me a lot, the Pakistani management also helped me", said Kashif.
