T20 World Cup 2021: India has been placed in the same group as Pakistan for the upcoming T20 World Cup, ICC acting CEO Geoff Allardice announced on Friday. While Australia, England, South Africa, and West Indies have been placed in Group 1, India, Pakistan along with Afghanistan and New Zealand have been placed in Group 2 of the Super 12.

Although India has the hosting rights for the World Cup, the 16 team event will be held in UAE from October 17 to November 14 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The final schedule of the event has not been released yet but Allardice confirmed that Oman will host at least 6 qualifying matches and the main rounds will be played in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
