Former Pakistani bureaucrat Orya Maqbool Jan has been arrested for allegedly inciting religious hatred and defaming institutions, particularly the military. 72-year-old Orya Maqbool Jan who runs a YouTube channel with over one million subscribers was arrested following a raid on his residence in Lahore. A playwright, poet and columnist, Orya Maqbool Janwas previously detained by intelligence agencies for slamming military's interference in politics and for supporting jailed former prime minister Imran Khan.
