NASA's Mars Ingenuity Helicopter recently covered a record distance of 704 meters at a speed of 5.5 meters per second, its longest and fastest flight to date.

In the video released by NASA, Ingenuity's shadow can be seen on the surface of the red planet. The helicopter's shadow and the ground are seen growing smaller as it ascends higher up.

Ingenuity, nicknamed Ginny, is a small robotic helicopter operating on Mars as part of NASA's Mars 2020 mission.

Ingenuity landed on Mars on February 18, 2021, along with the Perseverance Rover. Since landing, Ingenuity has made 28 successful flights.
