A robbery suspect who tried to outrun a police horse has had his hopes dashed by an officer patrolling the streets on foot in New York City.
Video released by the New York City Police Department shows an officer on horseback approaching the suspect who quickly turns and runs away.
The mounted officer gives chase as the man crosses the street, hoping road and pedestrian traffic would help him get away.
But the suspect quickly ran into the arms of another officer patrolling the streets on foot.
The chase was over less than 30 seconds after it began.
Police allege that the man robbed a sunglass vendor in Times Square.
There was no immediate word on whether charges have been filed against the suspect or if he has legal representation.
