Passersby salvaged beer cans from the lost cargo of a truck involved in a traffic accident during the early hours of Tuesday in the Chilean capital Santiago.
The scavengers were authorized by the truck driver, who said the damaged cans on the road would have been discarded after the accident.
Police officers detained seven people who stole part of the remaining beer cans inside the truck.
