In a tragic incident, a ground operational staff at US' Texas airport died after she was sucked into the jet's engine, the Guardian reported.
The incident took place at San Antonio international airport on Friday.
As per the report, the tragic death occurred when a Delta Air Lines jet which had just arrived from Los Angeles was taxiing to an arrival gate. The plane's engine was turned on and the woman got ingested into it, US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) officials said in a statement.
The officials have decided to not disclose the identity of the staffer amid the grim time for her family.
Meanwhile, an initial probe into the case revealed that the death of the woman was unrelated to operational processes, safety procedures and policies of the company that provides ground handling operations to Delhi Air Lines.
