An American man almost got himself free lunch when he ordered food in Tamil at a South Indian joint in New York

Ari, a YouTuber has posted a video of him going to four food joints and ordering food in Tamil, leaving the owners very impressed. While 3 of the joints were South Indian, one of them was Sri Lankan.

The man first visited a cart and ordered masala dosa, Pondicherry dosa and uttapam. Pleasantly surprised, the cart owner then begins to discuss the history of the langauge with him. The people standing in the queue also look impressed by the YouTuber's Tamil skills.

The owner of the second restaurant was so overjoyed to hear the American order in Tamil that he offered him lunch on the house but the man politely refused and paid his bill.

At the third restaurant he visited, he ordered a Chettinad curry that blew his mind but the woman manning the counter was more mindblown by his language skills.

The fourth joint he went to was owned by a Sri Lankan lady who gets into a nice warm conversation with him as he enjoys his meal.

Ari received a lot of praise and appreciation on YouTube for his video.
