A sickness scare hit the United Kingdom's naval force after several sailors fell sick on a warship.

The Royal Navy's HMS Portland returned to its base in Portsmouth on 3 February 2023 after multiple sailors fell sick after drinking water on the ship. The ship returned as a "precautionary measure" due to an "issue" with one of the vessel's freshwater systems, officials said.

A crew member put the wrong chemicals into the system that converts sea water to drinking water, but quickly realised the mistake, as per The Daily Telegraph.

HMS Portland reportedly tracked Russian submarines in the North Sea in January 2023.
