According to outage tracking website Downdetector.com, Instagram was down for thousands of users globally on Wednesday.
The site reported that more than 46,000 users faced issues accessing the photo-sharing platform in the United States at the peak of the outage.
About 2,000 users were affected in the UK, and more than 1,000 in India and Australia, Downdetecter showed.
