Afghanistan's Taliban government has banned beauty parlours in Kabul and other provinces, imposing yet another restriction on women in the country, according to Tolo News.

The verbal decree issued by Taliban's Vice and Virtue ministry has instructed municipal bodies to cancel licences of women's beauty saloons.

The ban is likely to impact many households in Afghanistan, especially those where women are the sole breadwinners in their families.
