Singapore store apologises to Indian Muslim couple for being denied Ramzan snacks

A supermarket in Singapore has apologised for stopping an Indian-origin Muslim couple from tasting free snacks provided during Ramzan, as per reports.

Indian Jahabir Shalih and his Indian-Malay wife Farah Nadya were allegedly told that the snacks are only for Malays.

The couple claimed that it was "shooed" away from the snack stand by a supermarket employee.

After the couple's Facebook post on the incident led to outrage, the Fairprice store said that it had closed the matter "amicably" and also "counselled" its employee.
