Saudi Arabia will have representation at the Miss Universe beauty pageant for the first time.
27-year-old model Rumy Alqahtani shared on Instagram that she will will be participating in the 2024 Miss Universe contest. She said that she is honoured to represent Saudi Arabia in its debut at the pageant.
The Khaleej Times reported that Rumy Alqahtani was born in Riyadh and has participated in several beauty contests. She took part in Miss and Mrs Global Asian in Malaysia a few weeks ago.
According to Harper's Bazaar 'In addition to being Miss Saudi Arabia, she’s also Miss Middle East (Saudi Arabia), Miss Arab World Peace 2021 and Miss Woman (Saudi Arabia.)'
