German authorities have launched an investigation into possible poisoning attempts on two Russian exiles in Berlin in April 2023.

At least 2 Russian exiles fell ill around the time they attended a conference linked to Putin's opponent Mikhail Khodorkovsky.

The victims were identified as Natalia Arno, head of the US-based Free Russia Foundation, and an unnamed journalist. Arno claimed that she may have been poisoned by a nerve agent.

The Russian media outlet Agentstvo reported that two participants in an April 29-30 conference organised by Russian opposition figure Mikhail Khodorkovsky experienced health problems around the time of or after the event.
