With Russia announcing a ceasefire in Ukraine, US President Joe Biden had a critical reaction.
The American commander-in-chief on 5 January 2023 said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was "trying to find some oxygen". Biden said that he found the new order "interesting", as Putin was ready to bomb "hospitals, nurseries, and churches" on Christmas and New Year's Day.
Putin had earlier declared a ceasefire on 6 and 7 January 2023 for Orthodox Christmas festivities.
