In a violent incident at a Pakistani wedding, gangster Ameer Balaj Tipu was gunned down on February 18. The young man was also the owner of a goods transport network and was reportedly a feared personality in Lahore’s underworld.
Balaj Tipu’s father was also reportedly killed in 2010 by an assailant at the Allama Iqbal airport. Balaj reportedly sustained critical gunshot wounds in the incident and later died at a nearby hospital.
Pakistani media reported that the incident happened in the Chung area, which is on the outskirts of Lahore. The venue has now been sealed off by the law enforcement officials and the incident is being investigated, Dawn News reported. The motive or identity of the assailant are still unknown.
Two other people were also shot along with Balaj Tipu at the wedding, NDTV reported citing police reports. Balaj’s armed associates quickly retaliated and killed the gunman.
