A massive fire broke out at a mall in Pakistan's capital city Islamabad on 9 October 2022. Reports said that the blaze started at the third floor of the Centaurus Mall, and then spread to other floors.

Viral videos on social media showed flames on the lower floors of the skyscraper, and huge clouds of smoke obscuring the upper floors. The upper section of the mall houses residential apartments.

Unverified videos on social media showed people rushed down elevators to escape the mall. The fire broke out at Monal restaurant, and eventually the entire food court was consumed by it, according to The Express Tribune.

People were being evacuated from the mall even as firefighters tried to douse the blaze. Details of injuries or casualties were not immediately known.
