Massive explosions were reported from Pakistan's Sialkot on March 20. News reports suggested that the blasts were heard near the cantonment area.

Some online accounts claimed that the explosions occurred at the Sialkot military base which has an ammunition storage area. A huge fire was also reported from the location.

The Sialkot cantonment is one of Pakistan's oldest army bases and was established in 1852 by the British Indian Army, as per reports.

The incident coincides with political turmoil in the country, with the Imran Khan government facing a no-confidence motion, even as the Prime Minister's coalition faces internal rebellion.
