The black box of the ill-fated Yeti Airlines flight, which has claimed over 65 lives so far, was recovered on Monday. A cockpit voice recorder and a flight data recorder were found. A Kathmandu Airport official told Reuters that the so-called black boxes are in a good condition, they look good from outside.

Data that will be found in the recorders will help investigating authorities determine the cause of the plane crash.

Meanwhile, rescuers have managed to find 68 bodies from the wreckage which are being kept at the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences. The bodies will be handed over to respective families after a post-mortem has been conducted.

The Kathmandu Post reported that of the retrieved bodies, only 35 have been identified so far. It further added that due to the difficult terrain of the crash site, rescuers are finding it difficult to look for the remaining bodies.

Rescue and search efforts continued on Monday morning after being paused after sun down on Sunday.

Yeti Airlines flight ATR-72 carrying 72 individuals crashed into a gorge at approximately 11 AM on Sunday, as it approached the Pokhara International Airport for landing.

The plane had taken off from Nepal's capital Kathmandu half an hour earlier and apart from locals, it was also ferrying 15 foreigners, including 5 Indians.

An unverified video doing the rounds on social media shows a passenger recording the view outside his window before showing the interior of the plane. Just then, people start screaming, and a few seconds later, a major fire covers the camera's view.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who rushed to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu after the crash, set up a panel to investigate the accident.

”The incident was tragic. The full force of the Nepali army, police has been deployed for rescue," he said.
