In an achievement symbolising the indomitability of the human spirit, a veteran soldier, who lost both his legs in combat, successfully scaled Mount Everest.

Hari Budha Magar, a Gurkha soldier, started his climb on April 17, 2023 - exactly 13 years after he lost his legs in an explosion in Afghanistan.
He reached the summit on May 19.

What made this achievement more special is that Budha Magar battled with alcoholism and depression after he lost his legs, The Guardian quoted him as saying.
