Kashmir separatist leader Yasin Malik's wife Mushaal Mullick appointed Pakistan's human rights minister

Pakistan has appointed Mushaal Malik, who is the wife of jailed Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chief Yasin Malik, as the human rights minister in the new caretaker cabinet announced on August 17.

Mullick will be the special assistant to the country's interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.

An alumnus of the London School of Economics Mullick married the JKLF chief in 2009.

The couple has a 10-year-old daughter who lives with her mother in Pakistan. Malik was arrested in early 2019 in connection with a terror-funding case. He remains incarcerated in a jail in New Delhi.
