A woman in Japan made her daughter undergo cosmetic surgery to look beautiful.
In an interview with Vice TV, Rucchi admitted that she urged her 9-year-old daughter Micchi to get a “double eyelid procedure done” to look appealing.
Plastic surgery is legal for children in Japan provided there is parental consent and many of them get it done due to peer pressure.
Saying that double eyelids is the beauty standard, Rucchi added that many South Asians are born without this feature.
Her daughter Michchi, despite her age, was happy to have taken the surgery. She also believes that her eyes are too narrow and only wide eyelids can make her a beautiful person.
Ruchchi shared her childhood experience of how she looked less cuter than her younger sister because of monolids, reiterating that only double eyelids can make a girl look pretty.
She got her eyelid surgery done at the age of 18 and now she doesn’t want her minor daughter to feel complex about her appearance.
