Independent US Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is expected to drop out of the race to the White House. According to the New York Times and CNN, the Kennedy scion will back Republican nominee Donald Trump.

RFK Jr. first entered the 2024 presidential race as a Democrat, but left the party to run as an independent. Early on, voters saw him as an alternative to Trump and President Joe Biden. But his sway with voters started waning after Biden stepped aside, and backed his deputy Kamala Harris for President.

With his favourability ratings languishing in the mid-single digits, Kennedy Jr. has little choice but to quit. But, who benefits the most if he drops out?
