Elon Musk's social media platform X has made a crucial change to its AI chatbot, Grok, after a warning from top election officials.
Five secretaries of state from Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Washington alerted X that Grok was spreading election misinformation.

The issue arose when Grok provided false information about state ballot deadlines after President Joe Biden exited the 2024 presidential race.

The secretaries of state requested that Grok direct users to CanIvote.org for accurate voting information. X has now updated Grok to point users to Vote.gov for reliable election information.

The secretaries of state praised X's action, urging continued improvements to ensure users access accurate information in this critical election year.
