SpaceX boss Elon Musk added his two bits to the conspiracy theories doing the rounds over the two “alien bodies” presented in Mexico’s Congress.  Musk commented on a spoof video that showed the so-called alien’s head being sliced, revealing a well-disguised sponge cake underneath.

Musk said ‘it was cake all along,’ hinting at his disbelief in the ‘non-human’ specimens. Mexican journalist and self-proclaimed UFO expert Jamie Maussan said the humanoids were about 1000 years old.

While testifying in front of Mexico’s Congress, Maussan explained that the two specimens were extraterrestrial and not related to any humans on Earth.

Officials from NASA were also asked about the supposed big reveal. Popular astrophysicist David Spergel said samples from the specimens should be shared with the scientific community.

“If you have something strange, make samples available to the world's scientific community, and we'll see what's there,” Spergel said.

In order to solidify his claims, Mausan said that the Autonomous National University of Mexico had already studied the specimens.
