A man in the UK has been accused of throwing an egg towards King Charles III.

The incident occurred when the monarch was meeting people outside the town hall in Luton on 6 December 2022.

The king was moved to a different area, and he continued greeting people. Police said that a man in his 20s was arrested and being questioned.

In November, a similar incident had taken place when a 23-year-old man allegedly threw eggs at Charles and Queen Consort Camilla in York. He was arrested and later released on bail.

The king has travelled widely across Britain since becoming monarch on the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September. He was to visit several sites in Luton, including a transit station and a Sikh house of worship, a gurdwara.
