An employee of a US lawmaker has claimed that Chinese hackers stole thousands of emails from the US State Department when they hacked into Microsoft's email platform earlier in the year.
Reuters reported that quoting a Senate staffer that State Department's IT officials told lawmakers that 60,000 emails were stolen from 10 different accounts.
He added that though names of the hacking victims weren't made public, all but one was working on East Asia and the Pacific.
