Caught on camera: plane crashes into electricity poles, bursts into flames

A video shot from a window shows the moment a light aircraft crashed into an electricity pole on Monday afternoon in Chile.

The crash happened near the city of Talca, in the centre of the country.

The pilot of the plane, 58-year-old Spaniard Fernando Solans Robles, was killed.

Three people at the scene sustained injuries because of the crash.

Conaf, the National Forestry Corporation, confirmed that the accident occurred in the vicinity of Panguilemo Aerodrome, north of Talca.

They said that Solans Robles possessed "extensive experience in aerial firefighting."

The incident is currently under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances leading to the tragedy.
