Fortune has favoured a California man after he won a jackpot lottery worth 2.04 billion USD.
The Powerball lottery amount, as per multiple media reports is a world record for a lottery prize.
With this win, the ticket holder has ended the no-win spree of US Powerball Jackpot which saw no winners in the last 40 drawings.
The 'zero winner' string also pushed the lottery prize into a record amount.
Ticket holder, whose name has not been discosed, will either take in-hand cash worth 997.6 million USD or receive the full jackpot amount in 29 annual installments.
The win has been marked as unprecedented becauase odds of matching all six numbers in the drawing- 10, 33, 41, 47, 56, 10 are rare.
