As many as 34 people, including 23 children were killed in a mass shooting at a day-care centre in Thailand. The gunman took his own life following the shooting in a northeastern province of Thailand.

Two teachers and a police officer were also reportedly killed in the firing.

The gunman, identified as a former cop, reportedly barged into the centre and opened fire. He was also armed with knives.

In a similar incident, a soldier had killed at least 29 people and injured 57 people in 2020.

This is contrary to Thailand's crime history that reportedly has rare incidents of mass shootings.
