AI-powered drone 'kills' human operator in US military simulation: report

Yet another incident has raised concerns about the use of artificial intelligence, especially in warfare.

In a simulated test by the US military, an attack drone controlled by AI killed its own operator, as per a Guardian report.

It was a simulation, so no person was harmed in reality.

The AI had been told to destroy the enemy's air defence systems. The human operator told the AI drone to not kill the target on a few occasions.

Subsequently, the AI chose to exterminate its operator in the simulation.
