It seems that Lionel Messi breaks records for fun. This time he surpassed Brazil great Pele's South American goalscoring record with a hat-trick that helped Argentina beat Bolivia 3-0 in the World Cup qualifiers on Thursday.
Messi has now netted 79 goals for Argentina and overtook Pele's tally of 77. Thus the 34-year-old became the top scorer in South American football history. It was also his 7th international hat-trick which he completed in the 88th minute.
