Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and People’s Democratic Party leader Mehbooba Mufti said she won't contest any polls till J&K's special status restored.

After attending PM Modi's meeting with 14 political parties from the erstwhile state, Mufti said, that before elections, the Centre needs to reach out to people and restore their confidence. In an interview with NDTV, Mehbooba Mufti stated that she would not contest poll till Article 370 was restored and if her party won, she would not be the CM.

Mufti emphasised on removing the 'draconian' orders that were passed on August 5, 2019, abrogating Jammu and Kashmir's special status. She stressed that the "era of suppression and oppression" has to come to an end.
