One of the most talked-about cricketers this IPL season was Chetan Sakariya who saw his life turn into a roller coaster this year, but little did the Rajasthan Royals player expect that he would get his maiden call-up for the national team so soon.

Sakariya who was not even part of the Indian A team spoke about his mixed feelings to the Indian Express. The 23-year-old pacer recently lost his father to Covid-19, while he is still enduring the pain, an emotional Sakariya told the Indian Express, 'I wish my father would have been here to see this'

'I lost my younger brother and a month later I got a big IPL contract, I lost my father last month, and God has handed me an Indian call-up', the youngster added.

Sakariya who performed well in this year's half-done IPL is among the 6 new faces that got selected for the Sri Lanka tour.
