The government on Monday assured the Rajya Sabha that it will raise the issue of alleged incident of racism and cyberbullying with Indian origin student at Oxford University, with the UK when required.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said that India is land of Mahatama Gandhi and it can never turn its eyes away from racism.
Rashmi Samant, who was the first Indian woman to become the president of the Oxford University Students Union, resigned in February after a controversy erupted over her remarks on social media which were labelled as anti-Semitic and racist.
