In a step forward to boost to Mumbai's sanitation standards, the city got its biggest ever, 88 seater Jumbo public toilet in Andheri (West).
Spread across 4,000 square feet of civic land, the two-storey restroom promises state-of-the-art facilities to around 60,000 slum dwellers in the vicinity.
People can have access to free WiFI, television, a tiny botanical garden and a waiting area with a newspaper stand at a monthly subscription of just ₹60 per family.
The two-storied public toilet has 60 seats on the ground floor and 28 on the first floor, making it the largest built by the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The BMC plans to build more public toilets and as per reports, the municipal authority is presently working on a 324 seater toilet by December this year.
