WhatsApp finally announced the much-awaited chat history transfer feature between Android and iOS at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event.

For now, the feature will only support transfers from iOS to Android, and will work with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones, also announced at the event. It will be rolled out to other Samsung devices running Android 10 and above in the coming weeks.
Users will need to use a physical Lightning to USB-C cable in order to transfer their chat history.
WhatsApp has not yet clarified when the chat history transfer feature will roll out to other Android devices, or support Android to iOS migration.
