Bombay High Court on Wednesday heard former Mumbai top cop Param Bir Singh’s petition seeking a CBI investigation against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

Singh faced tough questions as the court repeatedly asked him why no FIR had been filed on his allegations against the minister. Singh, in his March 20 letter to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray accused Deshmukh of extortion.

‘Law is above you’, The High Court reminded Singh as it asked him not to ‘view himself so highly’. In stern remarks during an argument, the Bombay High Court Chief Justice told Singh that the law cannot be set aside for him.
