A mixed bag of Opposition MPs have said they were warned of ‘state-sponsored attackers trying to remotely compromise’ their iPhones.
Politicians from Congress, TMC, AIMIM and AAP have claimed they received the warning. No MP from BJP has made similar claims so far.
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said he ‘verified’ the warning received from Apple. Throwing critical comments, Tharoor also tagged PM Modi in this post.
AAP MP Raghav Chadha said the warning refreshed memories of the Pegasus spyware scandal. He said his ‘democratic interests’ were attacked.
‘Wonder who? Shame on you,’ Priyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena (UBT) wrote on social media. She also tagged Home Minister Amit Shah.
‘Your fear makes me pity you,’ TMC’s Mahua Moitra said while saying she also received the warning.
Moitra also informed that SP’s Akhilesh Yadav, Congress’ Pawan Khera, CPM’s Sitaram Yechury and people in Rahul Gandhi’s office were also warned.
