Bihar CM Nitish Kumar received criticism from all directions for his controversial remarks on women's education to control the population.
Kumar put forward a vivid description in the state assembly of how an educated woman can ‘restrain’ her husband during sexual intercourse.
PM Modi criticised INDIA bloc’s silence over the row. He said no leader of the alliance was ‘speaking (against) it. How low will they stoop?’.
India’s National Commission for Women also put the Bihar CM in its crosshairs and demanded an ‘unequivocal apology’ for his remarks.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said Kumar used ‘inappropriate words and gestures’ in a ‘sacred place’ like the legislative assembly.
Bihar CM later apologized for his remarks a day later. ‘I apologise and I take back my words. If anyone got hurt, I take them back,’ he said.
