Australian opening batter Marcus Harris, who is part of the Ashes tour said that people were a bit shocked after learning about the sexting scandal involving former team captain Tim Paine and his resignation from captaincy.

Harris repeatedly said that Paine remained a popular member among the players. "knowing his character, he's a pretty strong and resilient bloke. So I'm backing Paine to get through that" added Harris.

Whether Tim Paine will be selected to play the first Ashes Test is still unclear even as the former skipper is currently involved in a domestic match in Hobart.
