Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano on the Big Island erupted on Sunday spewing lava. Residents in the locality were asked to stay indoors as steam clouded the sky and ash fell after the volcanic eruption.
Furthermore, the USGS reported a 4.4-magnitude earthquake near the volcano shortly after the eruption.
Images posted by the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park showed the air full of red smoke rising into the night sky.
Kilauea, a popular tourist attraction, is one of the world's most active volcanoes and has been erupting regularly since the 1950s.
